More infos for side sleepers

As a side sleeper, your shoulder width and the firmness of your mattress are especially important.

When adjusting the pillow, make sure your head on the pillow is neither pushed too far up (pillow too high) nor bent downward (pillow too low).

For side sleepers, a high pillow setting is usually recommended. So start with all four foam layers and adjust as needed.

If you have a soft mattress, three layers (1, 2, and 4) might be sufficient. However, for hard mattresses, we recommend using all four layers.

We currently don't offer an extra fifth layer to further increase the height of the pillow. However, if you are interested in that, feel free to contact us

More infos for back sleepers

For back sleepers, as with side sleepers, the firmness of the mattress and your own body build play an important role. Generally, we recommend a medium-high pillow to ensure a healthy sleeping posture.

To find the perfect height setting for your Forever Pillow, you can perform a simple test at home: Stand against a wall so that your upper back and buttocks touch it. The distance between the back of your head and the wall should be compensated for by the pillow.

You could start with a combination of foams: 1, 2, 4 or 1, 2, 3.

The pillow is flexible, so you can add or remove layers to find the ideal height. It's important that your neck is neither overstretched (pillow too high) nor bent backward (pillow too low).

In such cases, you should adjust the pillow either lower or higher.

Note that layers 1, 2, and 4 each have a height of 3 cm, whereas layer 3 has a height of 4 cm. This way, you can achieve different pillow heights by combining various layers.

More infos for stomach sleepers

As much as we sympathize with dedicated stomach sleepers, there is essentially no optimal head position in this sleeping posture.

Stomach sleepers inevitably have to turn their heads to one side, which puts strain on the neck and upper back area.

Since you should lie the same way you stand, sleeping on your stomach is anything but natural.

If you don't want to give up sleeping on your stomach, you should choose the lowest pillow setting possible.

Fortunately, this is possible with the Forever Pillow. Start with just a single foam layer (4 cm total height).

Either foam 1 or foam 4 would be most suitable, depending on whether you prefer a softer or firmer pillow.

More infos for combo sleepers

It gets a bit more complicated for so-called combo sleepers, who sleep in two different positions during the night.

That's because the right pillow height depends on your sleeping position. And depending on your sleep position, you need a different pillow height.

Stomach + Side Sleeping

If you sleep both on your stomach and your side, it's almost impossible to find the absolutely perfect pillow height with one pillow.

That's because as a stomach sleeper, you should aim for the lowest possible setting, whereas as a side sleeper, you should aim for the highest possible setting.

In this case, you would actually need two pillows.

Our advice: Set your pillow to a medium height and either remove or add more layers, depending on how you get along with the medium height.

You could start, for example, with foams 1, 2, and 4 (total height: 10 cm). Later, you could swap foam 2 for foam 3 (then a combination of 1, 3, and 4 = total height of 11 cm), use only foam 1 and 4 (total height: 7 cm), or use foam 1 and 3 (total height: 8 cm).

Another alternative would be to set the Forever Pillow to the ideal size for side sleeping and push the pillow to the side whenever you turn onto your stomach.

Side + Back Sleeping

If you're a back and side sleeper, the whole thing is a bit easier: you have to find the golden mean.

Start with a medium setting and work your way down or up, depending on how the medium setting feels for you.

Finding the right height as a side and back sleeper is significantly easier since back sleepers should generally sleep higher than stomach sleepers.

The "perfect" pillow heights for back and side sleepers aren't as far apart as they are for stomach sleepers (as low as possible) and side sleepers (as high as possible).

Stomach + Back Sleeping

This time, start with a relatively low combination. A combination of foam 1 and foam 4 (total height: 7 cm) would be recommended.

Depending on how hard or soft your mattress is, you can also further reduce the pillow height in the back position and possibly use only one layer. This is certainly better for stomach sleeping.

With foam 1 and 4, you each get a total height of 4 cm. Foam 1 feels a bit softer than foam 4. So you can choose for yourself whether you prefer to lie softer or firmer.

Alternatively, you could also try lying just on foam 3 (total height: 5 cm), which is a bit higher and therefore better for back sleeping.

Give the Forever Pillow a Chance!

Please give the Forever Pillow ample time and make use of the trial sleeping phase right up to the last day.

Your body needs time to adjust to the new pillow, and this can take a while.

Especially when switching from a fluffy feather pillow to a supportive foam pillow.

If you have issues with configuring the Forever Pillow, our team is available at all times to help you.

If, despite extensive testing, you're still not sleeping better, you can of course make use of your right to return the product.

However, we ask that you thoroughly test the pillow first. Because each return is naturally detrimental for us, for you, and most importantly, for the environment.

I’m an architect and appreciate products with good design. I love how easy it is to change the layers. I’ve also taken mine on the plane and could even tuck my sleep mask in it. Definitely worth the price.
